International Float Fishing Cup
At Lake Alagovac, as part of the 151st Nevesinjska olimpijada, the 18th International Float Fishing Cup is being held. The competition brings together teams from the region, experienced anglers, and representatives, offering sports competition, nature, the tranquility of the lake, and friendly gatherings after the competition.
Fishing Competition at Alagovac Lake
The International Cup in Float Fishing is one of the sporting events of the Nevesinjska olimpijada that combines competitive spirit, nature, and friendship among anglers. Alagovac Lake will once again be the gathering place for teams from Serbia, Montenegro, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Srpska this year.
Every year, strong teams participate in the competition, including representatives from the countries they come from. The event is particularly valuable due to the participation of teams with serious competitive experience, including the team from Jelaha, which was the team world champion.
Teams, sectors, and competition format
The competition is held in a team format. Each team consists of three competitors, who are assigned to sectors A, B, and C. After the draw for starting positions, competitors have time to prepare, followed by a four-hour competition on the water.
This format brings a special dynamic, as the result is built not only on individual catches but also on the overall performance of the team across all sectors.

Float fishing is a discipline that requires precision, patience, good water assessment, and experience in choosing tactics. Competitors strive to achieve the best catch within the allotted time, and after the competition, weighing is done by sectors. The competition lasts 4 hours, from 10:00 to 14:00, and after weighing, the best competitors by sectors, the best team, and the best angler with the largest catch in kilograms are announced.

After the competition and weighing of the catches, the best competitors by sectors will be announced, as well as the best team overall. The winning team will receive a transitional trophy, while a trophy will also be awarded for the best angler, i.e., the competitor with the largest catch in kilograms.
