As part of the rich program of the 151st Nevesinjska olimpijada, chess enthusiasts can look forward to a chess tournament that will gather numerous chess players from Nevesinje, Herzegovina, and the region.

Strategy, Concentration, and Moves
The individual chess championship is part of the sports program of the Nevesinjska olimpijada and gathers participants who strive to achieve the best result through knowledge, tactics, and calmness. Chess is a discipline where decisions are made carefully, and victory is built through planning, experience, and precise assessment of the opponent's moves.
This competition provides an opportunity for chess players of different ages and experiences to compete in a fair-play atmosphere and showcase their skills in front of an audience and chess enthusiasts.
Registrations, game system, and game pace
The individual chess championship gathers competitors who will compete through 7 rounds using the Swiss system. The game pace is 10 minutes per player, which gives the tournament a dynamic rhythm and requires quick, yet thoughtful decisions.
Registrations are done in person before the start of the tournament, no later than August 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The maximum number of participants is 40, and competitors are required to bring their own chess equipment.
